The Artificial Intelligence Hub aims to unite AI researchers, industry leaders, startups, and collaborators to advance research, host accelerators, promote ethical AI, and support workforce development in collaboration with New Jersey educational institutions.
The artificial intelligence hub, announced in December 2023 by New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy and Princeton University President Christopher L. Eisgruber, will bring together AI researchers, industry leaders, start-up companies, and other collaborators to advance research and development, house dedicated accelerator space, advance the use of ethical AI for positive societal impact, and promote workforce development to support new technology development, in collaboration with other New Jersey universities, community colleges, and vocational schools.

In the spring of 2024, The New Jersey Economic Development Authority (NJEDA) and Princeton University issued a Request for Information (RFI) to seek input on best practices and operational insights for the creation and development of an artificial intelligence (AI) hub to help advance New Jersey’s leadership in the field and catalyze innovation in AI technologies. The RFI sought to garner specific interest for engagement in the AI hub by respondents. The public feedback received will help with defining the scope and characteristics of the AI hub, with a particular focus on opportunities for collaboration with the private sector.
